Surface Treatment Benefits

Anodising as a surface treatment

Aluminium, while exceptionally recyclable, and offering a proven lifetime performance and minimal maintenance will almost always require surface treatment. The choice of treatment is as important as the material choice itself.

Anodising enhances the natural quality of the aluminium, offering excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance. It is unique amongst surface treatments, as anodising is totally integrated with the metal’s surface.

Anodising also enhances the properties of the Aluminium by offering:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Minimum risk of fading.
  • Anodising film is totally impregnable.
  • 100% Recyclable.
  • Preserves original surface texture and design.

Why Anodise?

Anodising is the most widely used off all surface treatments and is also used amongst other things to:

  • Improve corrosive resistance.
  • Preserve the "New" appearance and to prolong the life of the finish.
  • Provide a base for application of adhesives or printing inks.
  • Provides a surface that is nice to touch.
  • Create a dirt repellent surface.
  • Give an electrically insulated coating.

Although a high percentage of our products are anodised as the chosen surface treatment, ABL also offer polishing, powder coating, chrome plating and bead blasting.
